Last year, TEMPEST emerged in the music industry like a storm and made a lasting impression on global K-POP fans by releasing three mini-albums in a year. They also swept rookie awards at various award ceremonies, as well as first place on music shows, and achieved remarkable results such as being listed on the lineup for global major stages.
Nevertheless, concerns and worried voices about TEMPEST and their activities have grown. Therefore, Tempest made a promise to enjoy the stormy weather that relentlessly attacks them and to prove their worth.
TEMPEST’s fourth mini-album, <THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM>, fully embodies TEMPEST in its true form and serves as the opening of the “Storm” series. In this album, TEMPEST sets the theme of the “storm” to portray the image of a youth who persistently moves forward without giving in to overwhelming hardships.
The members’ determination to “overcome the hardships and anxieties in our own way” is combined with youthful energy that pushes forward through any storm without hesitation and breaks the calm before the storm.
Before the raging storm, the album “THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM” compares the calmness that precedes a storm. The album describes the situation just before TEMPEST appears and turns the scene upside down. With the swirling energy of youth, TEMPEST, armed with their main weapons of “freshness + funk” concept and powerful and unrestrained performances, presents an even more intense color.
This album also features lyrics written by LEW and Hwarang, and their solid and vibrant rapping adds power to Tempest’s passion and energy.
